Overflowing Empathy

Lately, I've begun appreciating the appeal of practicing unconditional empathy. It's like, when I started trying to find even the tiniest bit of common ground with people, suddenly my world just exploded with possibilities. I no longer feel confined to bubbles (or "isms").

Instead of vilifying those who adopt different morals or have diametrically opposed opinions, I now find myself genuinely relating to them. My most profound realization is that it has little to do with others. It is only me releasing myself from my self inflicted incarceration.

It had led to unexpected sources of wisdom and getting a whole new appreciation for how other people live their lives. Yes, you may fundamentally disagree with someone on something, but is it worth obsessing over? Wouldn't it be way more interesting to discover all the random stuff you actually have in common?
